Why Emerging?

Emerging Evangelists is NOT connected in any way with the "emergent" church movement.  It simply represents the idea that evangelists and evangelism need to emerge from stereotypes placed by previous generations and return to the more ancient, Biblical model.

Values

This site gathers around unity not diversity.  While no individual contributor can be responsible for another's statements, we gather in unity around the core teachings of Jesus Christ, the Bible and the Christian Church around the world.  Our contributors are from a wide array of denominations, but this site is not affiliated with any particular denomination.  Below is our general statement of faith as well as several ancient Christian statements we likewise adhere to.

Statement of Faith

The Bible to be the infallible Word of God, that is it His holy and inspired Word, and that it is of supreme and final authority.
In one God, eternally existing in three person - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary.  He led a sinless life, took on Himself all our sins, died and rose again, and is seated at the right hand of the Father as our mediator and advocate.
That all men everywhere are lost and face the judgement of God, and need to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through His shed blood on the cross.
That Christ rose from the dead and is coming soon.
In holy Christian living, and that we must have concern for the hurts and social needs of our fellowmen.
We must dedicate ourselves anew to the service of our Lord and to His authority over our lives.
In using every modern means of communication available to us to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.

The Apostles Creed

We believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord.  Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost; born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell.  The third day he rose again from the dead.  He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.  We believe in the Holy Ghost.  We believe in one holy, universal church: the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.  And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father by whom all things were made; who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end.  And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And we believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. And we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
