Be the Sign
“IN ORDER FOR THEM 2 SEE THE SIGN, U MUST BE THE SIGN”
One of the greatest gifts to possess in our MIXED-UP postmodern world of “absolute truth-free thinking”, is an understanding of the essence of the day that God has placed us in. We need to be prophetic thinkers with REVIVALIST’S hearts to see a successful rescue mission of a desperate generation. We need 5th degree holy power demonstrations or we won’t reach this Nation!
This month we are releasing our THIRD BOOK entitled, I AM YOUR SIGN. This is not only a milestone for us personally, but a spiritual weapon forged to capture the hearts of a generation for Christ and unleash Holy takeovers. We’ve secured recommendations from some of the most reputable ministers and ministries across the nations. Yet the most exciting aspect, for me, is the transformational effect it possesses for any open-hearted believer. (YOU ARE TO BE A SIGN for this generation to turn back to God and for nations to fall to TRUTH!) I’ve spent countless hours thinking of ways to concisely articulate the revelation God has given me. I think I’ve found one!
In 1 Kings 18, Elijah moves from isolation to confrontation, from observation to demonstration, and finally to jubilation. His journey begins with God instructing him to go mainstream by distinguishing himself to the wicked King Ahab. Many people live their lives making sure they're not seen. Divine moments require that we move from the invisible to the visible. they choose to remain anonymous; they treasure their privacy to a fault. God told Elijah that if he presented himself to Ahab that He would “send the rain on the earth.” This rain represents a promise of a monumental outpouring which ripens the harvest.
When you go public with the vision God has given you, good things happen. After his conversation with King Ahab, Elijah made a bee-line for the wayward nation of Israel who as a people had given into a trance-like idolatrous trip of darkness, involving “Baal” worship.
At first Elijah gathered the people together and challenged them to make the right choice and surrender their lives to God. The Bible says in 1 Kings 18:21 that “the people answered him not a word.” The original Hebrew implies that they didn’t even pay attention or respond to his witness. This overwhelming non-response is repeated daily to our witness that we give to lost America. This response represents the fruit of unsuccessful attempts at outreach.
Elijah’s reaction was to believe that he was the only minister left standing against the cultural and false spiritual architects of Baal worship. It’s easy to feel outnumbered and out maneuvered by the silence of results that we’ve hoped for in our witnessing efforts.
Elijah’s final move was unique, historic, and heroic, as he took his witness to the ultimate level—he brought the SUBSTANCE from the eternal and laid it before a generation in FULL VIEW. Elijah did this by demanding that beliefs be put to the test, that the acid test of sovereignty be manifested by a supernatural confirmation of fire. The fire from heaven would be a sure-fire way to convince the hearts of the spectators. This is an illustration of becoming a SIGN and then releasing ONE!
The human spirit hungers for 1) the transcendent, and 2) passion. I AM YOUR SIGN REVIVALISTS gives the seeker fire, which combines passion with the transcendent. Once the hesitant-to-believe audience saw Elijah call down fire on an altar, that had been water drenched, they fell on their faces and acknowledged God as Lord. Elijah’s earlier witness hadn’t moved the masses, nor had it amassed a movement, yet his latter witness released a move of God. The results from these two approaches could not have been more contrasting.
This Old Testament scene illustrates a cutting edge catalyst that the Holy Spirit is using and will breathe upon to awaken the conscience of a spiritually comatose generation. Our book is a challenge, similar to Elijah’s life, from his prophetic disclosure to Ahab, to his POWER DEMONSTRATION on Mt. Carmel.
How did Elijah know to press in for a supernatural manifestation to attest to the message he had given? What triggered his boldness to go to Baal’s home court and use his signature move (Baal was believed to be the god of fire) against him? The answer to all of the above is—God. Elijah’s prophetic sensitivity positioned him to see hearts turn to faith in God. What if God wanted to multiply this miraculous phenomenon across the nations of the world, in schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, and the marketplace?
We must decide that we will fight for the right witness that will release souls to acknowledge the Lordship of Christ. The key to this miracle was that Elijah never threw in the towel. Many prophets in Elijah’s day hid in caves, forgoing their responsibilities and witness. King Ahab and Jezebel conspired to get Elijah, yet this prototype for the modern NEW BREED REVIVALISTS didn’t abdicate, terminate, or deactivate. By continuing to contend for souls, he exposed the false prophets, causing Baal’s towel to be thrown on the ground.
Sometimes when you’ve not had success in an area, or you are going through some “drama”, it’s easy to throw in the towel. I’ve recently had conversations with people who feel like they can’t keep up the fight; that they can’t win, or recover. Many feel trapped with the “what’s the use?” mentality, which fuels the “dropout syndrome.” Elijah consistently faced dour circumstances where he could have opted out and no one would have questioned his throwing in the towel.
Proverbs 24:16 says, “For a righteous man may fall seven time and rise again” There are some seasons in life where simply not quitting gets you the ‘A’ grade; where you win if you simply just don’t give up. You may not be taking additional ground, or acquire the prize during this testy process, but not pushing the abort button will pay off. Righteousness is a gift from God that not only affects your standing before Christ, but also helps you stand before crisis. You need to know that the Father calls you righteous, and the righteous never stay down. God is going to get you through—the steps of the righteous are ordained.
I felt overwhelmed at the prospect of completing this book, to the extent, that I wanted to abandon the project several times. Yet, I knew that if I stayed the course God would do something very special.
I want to encourage you to stay in the fight, and know that if you do, the enemy will be forced to throw in the towel. So if the towel is lying around—that’s not my towel on the ground!
