Darrell Vesterfelt

Darrell is on a quest for truth.  If nothing in his life is accomplished outside of truth seeking, he will deem his life successful.  Jesus Christ is his ultimate truth and Project Awaken his expression of the truth that he is finding.  Outside of developing Project Awaken, he is frequently partaking in activities at his church Winston-Salem First in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Project Awaken began growing in the heart of its founders early in 2008. Conversations between Darrell and co-founder Paul Kelly became the origins of the original Project Awaken blog, which led a quiet life until October 2009, when both Darrell and Paul began feeling God calling them to take their message to a wider audience.

Project Awaken seeks the awakening of a generation. It seeks to wake them to Jesus Christ and the power of a life with Him. They find inspiration in the story of Samuel - a young man who did not know the Lord because the word of the Lord had not been revealed to him. When he hears the voice, though, he wakes up and changes a nation forever.

Darrell is one of those that has been awakened through a real encounter with Jesus, and longs to see a similar experience for a generation in America.  He is passionate about writing, and speaking to further this message in a culture that does not yet know Jesus.
